Rebrand complete: Kings Hill Hockey Club begins its next chapter

Matthew Sharp23 Jun - 09:00

Kings Hill Hockey Club has completed its rebrand from K Sports Hockey Club, marking a new chapter for members, supporters and the local community.

Kings Hill Hockey Club is proud to confirm that the club’s rebrand is now complete.

Following a period of planning, consultation, design work and practical transition, the club has formally moved forward from K Sports Hockey Club to Kings Hill Hockey Club. The new identity is now in place across the club’s name, badge, colours, communications and public presence.

This is an important milestone for everyone connected with the club: players, parents, coaches, captains, committee members, volunteers, supporters, partners and the wider local community.

It marks the end of one phase of change and the beginning of the next chapter.

New name, same club spirit
The rebrand gives the hockey club a clearer identity for the future, but it does not replace the people, history or pride that brought the club to this point.

Kings Hill Hockey Club carries forward a story that began in 1936. Across generations, the club has been shaped by players, families, volunteers and supporters who have given their time, energy and commitment to keep hockey moving forward. That spirit remains unchanged.

The new name gives the club a stronger place-based identity, rooted in Kings Hill and connected to the wider Tonbridge and Malling community. It also gives the club a name it can own with confidence as it continues to grow.

Why the rebrand mattered
The move to Kings Hill Hockey Club was not simply a change of badge or kit. It was part of a wider reset for the hockey club.

After the loss of the former home pitch at Cobdown, the club faced a period of disruption and uncertainty. Temporary venues, travel, changing routines and questions about the future all placed pressure on members and teams.

Throughout that period, the club’s response was to build forward. The rebrand has helped create a clearer story about who the club is, where it is going and why hockey matters locally.

Kings Hill Hockey Club now has an identity that better reflects its future: a community club, a hockey home and a place where people can belong and grow.

A people-first hockey home
At the heart of the new identity is a simple message: Kings Hill Hockey Club is the people-first hockey home for Tonbridge and Malling: a place to belong and grow.

For juniors, that means a welcoming place to start, make friends, build confidence and develop as players.

For adults, it means good hockey with good people, clear standards and a strong club culture.

For parents, volunteers and supporters, it means being part of a club that values community, contribution and the future of hockey in the area.

The club’s ambition is to make hockey easier to start, easier to stay with and easier to believe in.

The new identity
The completed rebrand brings together the club’s new name, badge, colours and visual identity.

The badge has been designed to be distinctive, confident and recognisable across kit, digital channels, signage and club communications. It carries forward important references to the club’s heritage, including the 1936 date, while giving Kings Hill Hockey Club a fresh identity for the years ahead.

The club’s colour palette of white, royal blue, yellow and navy blue gives KHHC a bright, clear and consistent look across everything from playing kit to online communications.

From this point forward, the active club name is Kings Hill Hockey Club, with KHHC used as the club abbreviation. References to K Sports Hockey Club, KSHC and previous names may still appear in historic records, archived material or search results, but the club’s identity going forward is Kings Hill Hockey Club.

Thank you to our members and supporters
Completing the rebrand has taken time, care and commitment. The club would like to thank everyone who has helped make it happen.

That includes the volunteers who have worked behind the scenes, the members who have stayed with the club through change, the parents and supporters who have continued to give their time, and the wider community partners who have supported the club’s direction.

Change can be exciting, but it can also be unsettling. The club is grateful for the patience, encouragement and pride shown by so many people during the transition. This rebrand belongs to the whole club.

A special thank you also goes out to the two experts, from our Club, who have helped create such a compelling brand and identity.

Darren Body, Brand Strategist, supported the club with the brand strategy and positioning behind the new identity, helping shape the direction, messaging and foundations for the launch.

Ben Chadwick, at Nibby Design, created the visual identify you now see and will recognise as Kings Hill Hockey Club. Taking into consideration the history of the club, its various stages and journey it has been on, he work closely with Darren and the club to create a visual identity that does so much for the Club, both now and in the future.

Looking ahead
The completion of the rebrand is not the finish line. It is a foundation.

The club’s focus now is on continuing to grow participation, supporting junior and adult hockey, strengthening volunteer involvement and progressing the long-term future of hockey locally.

Work also continues around the club’s future home. Plans for a new artificial hockey pitch at Kings Hill Sports Park are progressing.

The new identity gives the club a stronger platform for that work. It helps members, new players, families, partners and the wider public understand what the club stands for and where it is heading.
